Cooling Columns and Low Temperature Aftercooler
Dyne Systems’ pressurized cooling columns regulate the temperature and coolant pressure of the engines being tested. Analog gauges allow you to monitor temperature and pressure levels during testing. We also offer Low Temperature Aftercooler (LTA) which is designed to regulate the secondary water circuit temperature on engines that use an onboard liquid-to-liquid heat exchanger (other than jacket water) to cool charge air.
Large Cooling Column Features:
- For applications up to 4,250 hp (3,169 kW)
- Stainless steel internal components to inhibit rust
- Automatic temperature control valve
- Manual fill and drain valves
- Pressure adjusting handle
- Mobile unit with casters is standard, wall-mount option available
- Exhaust gas bleed line
- Weight is approximately 550 lb (250 kg) with legs
- Water Use Rate is 3.5 gpm per 100 hp (19 lpm per 100 kW)
Small Cooling Column Features:
- For applications up to 1,250 hp (933 kW)
- It requires no electrical power or compressed air, only a source of cold water and a floor drain
- Sight tube for determining engine exhaust gas leaks
- Dual-scaled pressure gauge and dual-scaled dial thermometer
- Automatic temperature control valve
- Wall mount or cart mount
Low Temperature Aftercooler Features:
- Weight is approximately 550 lb (250 kg) with legs
- Water Use Rate is 3.5 gpm per 100 hp (19 lpm per 100 kW)
- Stainless steel internal components to prevent rust
- Available as mobile unit (with casters) or as wall-mounted unit
Hose Interconnect Kit
The Hose Interconnect Kits are specially designed for quick connect and disconnect between the engine and Dyne Systems’ Cooling Column and/or Low Temperature Aftercooler. The 12-1/2 ft (3.81 m) hoses are secured to the engine’s cooling water inlet and outlets with the supplied hose quick-disconnect couplings. The quick-disconnect ends are then attached to the Cooling Column’s or Low Temperature Aftercooler’s inlet and outlet hoses. A “wye” fitting is available for engines with dual outlet connections.
